Ewwww... your av looks... Mexican!

While working on a build for the now-defunct SLSA, I was visited by an av. I often get spectators when I am building, and most are reasonably well-behaved, but this one stood out.

After noting my long black hair and olive-brown skin, she offers her appraisal:

Ewww... Your av looks... Mexican!

Which, IMHO, is a good thing, because my av is closely modeled on my RL appearance. I also happen to be Mestiza in RL, so this seemed like a natural choice for me. It was also a chance to show off my RL self in a (mostly) safe way.
My visitor was clearly unprepared to see a Latina chick in a world filled with furries, men pretending to be women, robot avs, and girl avs with fairy wings.

So, does that mean that being Latina is more far out than being a half wolf creature? I hope not.

I honestly think her head would have exploded had she read my profile, which is in Spanish as well as English. Or maybe she can't read in addition to understanding that some people aren't just white...

Yeah.
